About the Role: Tetra Tech's High-Performance Building Division is seeking an Electrical Project Manager with expertise in government and commercial facilities as well as infrastructure market sectors.

In this role, you will collaborate with Project Managers and Project Directors, acting as the primary liaison for clients and consultants throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with standard engineering and construction methodologies, including A/E, EPCM, or Design-Build. This position offers a pathway for professional development and career advancement.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and execution of a portfolio of projects, ensuring profitability, quality, safety, and client satisfaction while managing resources, project scope, schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in project meetings, documenting minutes and tracking action items.
  • Adhere to internal governance protocols.
  • Prepare essential project documentation, including work breakdown structures, risk registers, and decision logs.
  • Assist in the creation of governance documents such as Project Execution Plans and Risk Management Plans.
  • Manage project change control processes.
  • Utilize your knowledge of planning and scheduling, demonstrating a solid understanding of contract administration and safety considerations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in any U.S. state.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex projects as a Project Manager.
  • Relevant experience in the Electrical Engineering sector, particularly in renewable energy, prime power generation, substation design, or battery storage.
  • Familiarity with utility coordination.
  • Knowledge of safety and contract/liability issues.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of maintaining successful client relationships.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with USACE/NAVFAC/USAF project management systems.
  • Proven experience in directing large-scale, multi-year electric utility projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, cost estimates, resource requirements, and schedules.
  • Experience in monitoring and updating technology roadmaps.
  • Background in electric utility distribution system engineering and design.
  • Experience in construction support, including bidding assistance and field observations.
  • Capability to create scopes of work and financial tracking for assigned projects.
  • Establish partnerships with consultants and internal stakeholders to manage project execution effectively.
