Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing teams of electricians. This role includes task delegation, staff training, quality assurance, safety implementation, site inspections, and troubleshooting technical issues. A strong background and experience in electrical work are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, coordinate, and schedule the work of electricians, carpenters, laborers, and operators, ensuring that both underground and surface electrical teams receive clear daily instructions and schedules to guarantee that installations align with design specifications.
  • Conduct inspections of work progress, equipment, and construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications, promptly addressing any observed safety hazards.
  • Interpret specifications such as blueprints to identify construction needs and plan procedures, including material estimation and ordering, as well as evaluating and assigning employee requirements for specific tasks.
  • Collaborate with management, technical staff, other departments, and contractors to troubleshoot issues and coordinate project activities.
  • Document information related to personnel, production, and operational data on designated forms and reports.
  • Create sketches or follow blueprints to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with job specifications and local codes using both hand and power tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial projects with budgets ranging from $500K to over $10 million.
  • Demonstrated initiative and strong organizational skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with professionals at various levels. Proficient communication skills in written and spoken English; bilingual or basic Spanish knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven ability to foster positive business relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Attention to detail, capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to prioritize tasks while developing specific goals and plans.
  • High standards of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to evaluate information for compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Willingness to travel and work at various Aireko office locations as necessary.
  • Experience with MS Project and Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
