Job Summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Receptionist to join our team. As a key member of our patient services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring a positive and efficient experience in our medical offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Operations: Greet patients and visitors, respond to routine requests for information, and manage incoming calls and messages.
  • Patient Registration: Register patients, obtain demographic and insurance information, verify insurance coverage, collect co-pays and deductibles, and update patient records.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules, and provide accurate information regarding test preparations and patient instructions.
  • Insurance and Financial Management: Update insurance and financial information, communicate with patients regarding changes or additions, and ensure accurate and complete information is obtained.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify, report, and resolve problems regarding registration to appropriate individuals and departments.
  • Patient Flow Management: Monitor patient flow to ensure efficient and courteous care, and offer assistance to patients as needed.
  • Visit Closure: Check out patients after visits, schedule follow-up appointments, and provide patients with a visit summary.
  • Administrative Tasks: File, retrieve, and deliver patient information and records, and complete required forms and documentation.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: None required.
  • Education: High school graduate.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, intermediate computer skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and operate necessary equipment.
  • Work Environment: Normal medical office environment, may be exposed to potentially ill patients.
