Position Overview:

RESPEC, a prominent engineering consulting firm, is on the lookout for a skilled and dynamic Water Resources Lead to enhance our operations in Alaska.

This role encompasses a variety of projects including hydrology, hydraulic analysis, floodplain studies, dam design, channel engineering, bridge hydraulic assessments, stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, fish passage facilities, erosion control strategies, and flood mitigation.

The Water Resources Lead will play a crucial role in bolstering our water resources initiatives in Alaska, driving business growth, and overseeing project management and engineering tasks.

This distinctive role will manage water resources projects throughout the state while also having opportunities to engage in projects beyond Alaska.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the firm's market sector leaders on projects spanning various business units, leveraging RESPEC's national expertise in water resources.

Projects may involve infrastructure such as bridges and highways, mining operations, state and federal parks, site development, riverbank stabilization and restoration, enhancements for fish passage, dams, and more.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline, along with over 10 years of experience in stormwater engineering, including project management responsibilities.

Additionally, the candidate must hold a Professional Engineer license in Alaska.

Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams to deliver high-quality engineering services
- Background in mentoring junior engineers in both technical and non-technical aspects of stormwater engineering
- Experience in business development and managing client relationships
- Proficiency in various hydrology and hydraulics software such as HEC-RAS (1D/2D preferred), HEC-HMS, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, USGS PeakFQ, and EPASWMM
- Experience in creating and overseeing construction plan packages and/or master planning studies
- Familiarity with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Letters of Map Revision and floodplain mapping
- Competence in AutoCAD/Civil3D and GIS

Compensation:
$110,000 - $160,000 annually (Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may vary from the stated range).
