Role and Responsibilities
The Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality designs and project outcomes that enhance client satisfaction and adhere to KLJ engineering standards. This position may involve acting as a technical lead or project manager, focusing on complex water treatment engineering design tasks.
- Implement engineering principles to execute and oversee engineering assignments.
- Direct the design and development of project components.
- Create construction and bidding documents in line with organizational and client protocols.
- Oversee construction administration and provide on-site observation.
- Conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews to ensure adherence to KLJ quality benchmarks.
- Facilitate stakeholder and client meetings.
- Mentor and train team members.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit expertise in water treatment engineering, including:
- Master planning
- Hydraulic calculations
- Design of water treatment and storage systems
- Coordination with permitting and regulatory agencies
- Complete project tasks independently or collaboratively.
- Manage project elements, including client interactions and permitting processes.
- Prepare and review reports and documentation.
- Assist in organizing public and client meetings with senior staff support.
- Contribute to scope, fee, and schedule planning.
- Engage in marketing efforts to attract new clients.
- May serve as Engineer of Record for project deliverables.
- May take on project/task management or technical leadership roles for medium-scale projects.
- Participate in proposal and interview preparation with senior staff assistance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Experience in engineering consulting.
- Background in water treatment and hydraulic engineering.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Post-Doctoral degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge of hydrologic engineering.
