Job Summary

PKG Contracting is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the management of construction projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Assist Project Managers in overseeing the construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Construction Coordination: Work directly with Superintendents and other field personnel to support construction activities, including layout, inspections, and start-up and commissioning of facilities.
  • Estimation and Procurement: Assist in estimating concrete, structural steel, earthwork, process piping, and architectural elements for water/wastewater projects, and negotiate and write purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Submittal and RFI Management: Acquire and review project submittals and curate RFIs, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Work directly with vendors to manage project orders and deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Field Observations and Inspections: Conduct field observations and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements and identify potential issues.
  • Design Engineering Support: Work with the project's design engineering team to resolve unforeseen issues and ensure design intent is met.
  • Client Relationships and Business Growth: Support client relationships and business growth through excellent communication and project delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience: 2+ years' construction industry experience preferred, with experience in collaborative delivery methods (CMAR/Design-Build) and project management software, estimating software, Blubeam, and AutoCad.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear, with vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
