Position Overview

The selected candidate will be an integral part of an Agile Team within the Delivery Services Group, contributing to a highly skilled and motivated team dedicated to the evaluation, design, and execution of cloud-based solutions across various software applications and integrated systems. This Agile Team is expanding to support a cloud-computing initiative for a federal customer. The candidate will engage with diverse customer application portfolios developed using technologies such as C#/.NET, Java, NodeJs, Python, and Go, focusing on enhancing and migrating these applications to cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The role requires collaboration with fellow Agile Team members and engineers both within and outside the organization for software development tasks and general cloud integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep, along with other cloud provider-specific IaC tools to automate infrastructure provisioning.
  • Configure cloud networks, including subnets, routing tables, and security configurations.
  • Assess existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to identify migration needs, documenting current and target architectures, and estimating compute and cost requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of a cloud migration strategy, encompassing lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or other refactoring methodologies.
  • Plan and execute data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and minimal operational disruption.
  • Design, construct, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications in the cloud environment.
  • Implement security best practices in cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the capability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant software development experience, or a Master's degree with at least three (3) years of experience.
  • Experience and/or certifications in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Familiarity with the Agile Software Development lifecycle.
  • Proficient in software design and implementation.
  • Understanding of relational and NoSQL database principles, with experience in database design and query creation.
  • Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure efficient cloud operations and prompt issue resolution.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for cloud infrastructure and applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Terraform and Docker/Kubernetes certifications.
  • Strong background in developing Java or .NET-based web applications.

Salary Range: $80,001 - $120,000. This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
