Position Overview

The selected candidate will be an integral part of an Agile Team within the Delivery Services Group, contributing to a highly skilled and motivated team focused on the evaluation, design, and execution of cloud-based solutions across diverse software applications and integrated systems. This Agile Team is expanding to support a significant cloud-computing initiative for government clients.

The role involves working with a variety of customer application portfolios developed using technologies such as C#/.NET, Java, NodeJs, Python, and Go, with a focus on enhancing and migrating these applications to leading Cloud Computing Environments (CCE) including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep, as well as provider-specific IaC tools for automation of infrastructure provisioning.
  • Configure cloud networking components including subnets, routing tables, and security policies.
  • Assess existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to determine migration needs, documenting current and target architectures.
  • Support the development of a cloud migration strategy, including various approaches such as lift-and-shift and re-platforming.
  • Plan and execute data migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimal service interruption.
  • Build and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications in the cloud environment.
  • Implement best practices for security in cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant software development experience, or a Master's degree with at least three years of experience.
  • Experience or certifications in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Familiarity with the Agile Software Development lifecycle.
  • Understanding of software design principles and implementation.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database principles, with experience in database design and query creation.
  • Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure effective cloud operations and prompt issue resolution.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for cloud infrastructure and applications.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Linux/Windows development environments and familiarity with IDEs such as Visual Studio and Eclipse/NetBeans.
  • Three or more years of experience in building cloud applications and hands-on experience with IaC for automating infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong skills in Unix and Shell Scripting, with the ability to automate Terraform module execution and associated workload deployments.

Desired Skills:

  • Certifications in Terraform and Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Strong background in developing Java or .NET based web applications.

Salary Range: $80,001 - $120,000 based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters, but customer site vaccination requirements must be adhered to when working at a customer site.
