Position Overview
The selected candidate will play a crucial role within an Agile Team in the Delivery Services Group, contributing to the design, assessment, and execution of cloud-centric solutions across diverse software applications and integrated systems. This role is integral to supporting a cloud-computing initiative for government clients.
The candidate will engage with various customer application portfolios developed using technologies such as C#/.NET, Java, NodeJs, Python, and Go, focusing on enhancing and transitioning these applications to leading cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable, secure, and economically viable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep, as well as cloud provider-specific IaC tools.
- Configure cloud networking components, including subnets, routing tables, and security protocols.
- Assess existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to identify migration needs and document architectural requirements.
- Contribute to the formulation of a cloud migration strategy, employing various methodologies such as lift-and-shift or re-platforming.
- Oversee data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and minimal operational disruption.
- Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud applications.
- Implement security best practices within cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Must be a US Citizen with eligibility for a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with a minimum of five years of relevant software development experience, or a Master's degree with at least three years of experience.
- Proficiency or certifications in AWS and/or Azure.
- Familiarity with the Agile Software Development lifecycle.
- Understanding of software design principles and implementation practices.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database principles, with experience in database design and query creation.
- Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless cloud operations.
- Respond to and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents and issues.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for cloud applications and infrastructure.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Linux/Windows development environments and IDEs such as Visual Studio and Eclipse.
- Three or more years of experience in building cloud applications and automating infrastructure provisioning.
- Strong skills in Unix and Shell scripting, with the ability to automate Terraform modules and associated deployments.
Desired Skills:
- Certifications in Terraform and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Strong background in developing Java or .NET-based web applications.
Compensation: Target salary range is $80,001 - $120,000, reflecting typical compensation based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: Compliance with customer site vaccination requirements is necessary when work is performed at those locations.
