Position Overview:
This role is centered around sales, focusing on promoting Sysco's products and services while fostering relationships with both new and existing Cruise Line Customer accounts. The primary objective is to assist Sysco's clients in achieving success while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers within procurement, culinary, and executive teams.
- Work collaboratively with internal operations and merchandising teams to guarantee complete order fulfillment.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of export and foreign trade zone regulations relevant to cruise lines.
- Analyze market trends and propose products that align with customer business needs and objectives.
- Stay informed about market conditions, product innovations, competitor offerings, pricing, and sales strategies.
- Provide valuable insights and knowledge to customers as part of a comprehensive service.
- Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and usage.
- Deliver product information and practical training to customer personnel.
- Coordinate deliveries according to the routing schedule established by the transportation department.
- Resolve any issues that arise during the order process, such as stock shortages or special orders.
- Participate in general sales meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Review and assess daily and weekly reports, including special order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
- Utilize Sysco's business tools for online sales tracking and communication.
- Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining sales records, processing credits and pickup requests, preparing sales quotes, and filing reports.
- Understand customer contracts and monitor compliance.
- Track contracts nearing expiration.
- Communicate effectively with other Sysco Operating Companies and Specialty Companies to enhance customer experience.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in business-to-business sales or food service management.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in foodservice sales and/or restaurant management.
- Demonstrated understanding of business and restaurant operations to manage customers with multiple locations.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders across operating companies.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
- Capable of understanding and addressing customer concerns.
- Ability to learn and utilize proprietary CRM tools for sales planning and forecasting.
- Skilled in planning and executing business strategies.
- Proven abilities in consultative selling, prospecting, networking, and negotiation.
- Effective presentation skills for conveying information and products to customers.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Ability to articulate information in terms of profit and loss, food cost, and expense ratios.
- Proficient in problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Microsoft spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Able to collaborate with peers and associates from other departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to structure a successful weekly schedule.
- Must demonstrate all competencies required for this position.
