Role Details

Transitional Finance Business Partner, Financial Management Team, based in Lincoln

Agenda For Change Band 5-7; 37.5 hours per week with flexible working options

Permanent Position

This transitional role offers a salary reflective of experience and examination progression.


As a member of the Finance Department, you will engage in Financial Management, aiding in the provision of an efficient, high-quality financial service while having opportunities to observe other finance and clinical roles.

You will receive support and encouragement to meet your developmental needs through both internal and external opportunities.


We are in search of a high-caliber, forward-thinking individual with a mindset geared towards improvement and growth to enhance our dynamic and energetic team.

Key Qualifications

- AAT qualification.
- Experience in management accounting and costing methodologies.
- Proficiency in generating and presenting reports at various organizational levels.
- Background in financial management.
- Familiarity with IT systems, including advanced spreadsheets, computerized financial ledgers, budgeting, financial modeling systems, and costing systems.
- Some knowledge of the NHS Financial Regime.


Exceptional communication skills are essential – the ability to collaborate within a team, build strong working relationships with colleagues, and demonstrate good influencing and negotiating skills is crucial. You should be achievement-oriented and capable of using your initiative.

It is also vital that the individual in this role exhibits strong performance aligned with the Trust's Behavior Framework.


The Financial Management team has been restructured and expanded to assist the Trust in delivering the necessary changes to enhance its financial and quality standings.

Team Investment

The investment in our team has enabled us to:
- Modernize the services provided to operational and clinical management through the implementation of business partnering.
- Generate more relevant and timely financial information to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Address the growing demand for detailed financial insights and develop meaningful forecasting and medium-term financial plans.


- Support the establishment and integration of Service Line Reporting (SLR) and Patient Level Costing (PLICS) within the Trust, providing a reliable decision-making tool.


- Foster the development of sustainable services.
