Job Summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Appointment Clerk to join our team. As a critical member of our operations team, you will be responsible for scheduling company appointments with current and potential customers or clients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling Appointments: Successfully schedule pickups and deliveries with customers via phone, email, and records time and date of appointments in our AS400 system database or other company/internal freight monitoring system.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely communication.
  • Administrative Tasks: Enter appointments in the computer in a timely manner, perform general administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with AS400 preferred.
