Job Summary

As a Field Service Engineer at Bio-Techne, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers across North America with revolutionary protein analysis instrumentation. This is a field-based position that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer and Instrument Support: Provide on-site and remote support to diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment. Maintain daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up.
  • Schedule, Administration, and Inventory Management: Work independently to manage and schedule customer appointments, create technical paperwork and support documents, and submit service reports to clients.
  • Support of Sales, Field Applications, and Technical Support Teams: Collaborate with the sales team to provide pre- and post-sales support, and work with the field applications and technical support teams to resolve complex customer issues.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field, with 3 years of field service experience in the life science, biotech, or medical industry, or a minimum of 5 years of field service experience with laboratory experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, experience with GMP documentation, and basic laboratory skills, including experience in BSL2 and BSL3 labs.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong brand ambassador with a professional demeanor, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and adapt to frequent changes.
Working Conditions
  • Travel: Up to 50% overnight travel in the primary coverage area, with some travel outside the primary coverage area.
  • Work Environment: May work remotely from the greater San Francisco/San Jose area, with occasional work in GMP, Biosafety Level 2, and 3 labs.
