Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced field service engineer to support innovative protein analysis equipment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role within a field team, ensuring the maintenance of instruments and delivering exceptional customer support across North America.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer and Instrument Support: Provide on-site and remote assistance to troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electro-mechanical scientific instruments in laboratory settings.
  • Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure effective resolution and follow-up.
  • Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for instrument testing as necessary; basic laboratory skills are essential.
  • Documentation: Complete service protocols while adhering to GMP documentation standards.
  • Schedule Management: Operate independently with minimal supervision, managing customer appointments and creating detailed technical documentation as needed.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team on pre and post-sales inquiries and assist field applications and technical support teams in resolving complex customer issues.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline with a minimum of 3 years of field service experience in the life sciences, biotech, or medical sectors, or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, fluidic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Professional demeanor and strong brand representation.
  • Experience with GMP documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective time management.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Basic laboratory skills, including experience in BSL2 and BSL3 environments.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Working Conditions:
Remote work may be possible from the greater area, with up to 50% overnight travel within the primary coverage area and some travel beyond.
