Senior Portfolio Manager

The Senior Portfolio Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of the Commercial Real Estate Banking Loan Portfolio. This role involves ensuring the integrity of credit quality, managing portfolio operations, and monitoring the credit standards for commercial loan accounts. The position requires vigilance in tracking portfolio trends and individual loan relationships, including addressing any exceptions that arise. The Senior Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and Credit Risk Management of the department's loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administration and monitoring of delinquencies exceeding 30 days, manage the risk rating process, and assist in identifying potential issues within the portfolio. Report all findings to the Commercial Banking Manager.
- Conduct necessary analysis and underwriting tasks as required.
- Regularly monitor exception, covenant, and delinquency reports on a weekly basis, reporting any irregularities to the Commercial Banking Manager.
- Continuously review upcoming loan maturities to ensure timely actions are taken.
- Support new business initiatives by evaluating preliminary data and ensuring the collection of necessary documentation.
- Identify, track, and manage exceptions to loan policies, reviewing credits with covenants and confirming compliance.
- Coordinate the monitoring of delinquent loans within the assigned portfolio and recommend appropriate actions, keeping the supervisor informed of the status.
- Review Commitment Letters for accuracy and alignment with credit services and underwriting recommendations.
- Participate in seminars and training sessions to stay updated on evolving regulations and industry trends.
- Provide assistance in various departmental areas as needed, including coverage during absences.
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required, or equivalent experience of 8 years in portfolio management.
- Formal credit training is mandatory.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the lending sector, with a focus on credit analysis and loan underwriting.
- At least 6 years of experience in maintaining credit quality and managing portfolio operations for both Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loans.
- Familiarity with banking documentation and various banking products is essential.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Prior experience with Fiserv EFT, Nautilus, CBS AS400, and Datapro is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including MS Word, MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS PowerPoint.
