Job Description

The Commercial Credit Manager (CCM) is a key role within the TD Bank Group, responsible for ensuring the quality of underwriting, compliance, and credit monitoring within an assigned portfolio. This position supports new business development while applying credit risk policy and adhering to the Bank's risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Credit Understanding and Approval: Ensure that all credit applications provide a high-quality risk assessment, credit structure analysis, due diligence, and credit presentation.
  • People Management: Develop and coach credit analysts, ensuring they have the necessary skills and capabilities to perform their roles effectively.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Comprehensively monitor and control the overall portfolio, adhering to approved guidelines and operating policies.
  • Operational Risk Management: Implement and operate systems to identify and mitigate operational risk issues, including acting as the Unit's designated anti-money laundering officer.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Manage aspects of the customer relationship, including reviewing reports and delinquencies, and assisting in developing strategy if failures occur.
Requirements:
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and MBA candidates preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Credit Underwriting and Administration Skills: Strong credit underwriting and administration skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of value-add credit structuring in a commercial banking environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
Physical Requirements:

The Commercial Credit Manager role requires occasional domestic travel and continuous sedentary work. The role also requires the ability to perform multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, and respond quickly to sounds.
