About the Role

As a Senior Applications Engineer at nLIGHT, you will play a crucial part in our laser material processing experiments. With a strong background in engineering and experience in similar roles, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and documenting experiments to advance our expertise in laser applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experiment Execution: Set up and operate robotic and CNC systems to execute laser processing experiments, ensuring optimal results and documentation.
  • Applications Development: Develop and document experiments to optimize laser applications parameters, advancing our knowledge in this field.
  • Customer Support: Present results to customers or applications partners, maintaining effective communication and building strong relationships.
  • Maintenance and Upkeep: Maintain automated machinery and lab equipment, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime.
  • Travel: Travel up to 25% for technical conferences, business development meetings, or onsite customer support.
Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum BS Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
  • Skills: Developing and managing detailed test plans, communicating technical results, managing project schedules, and working with automated equipment.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and enthusiasm for manufacturing processes.
Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
