Laser Development Expert Wanted:
We are seeking an experienced Laser Development Expert to join our team at nLIGHT. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing next-generation laser products.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop commercial lasers using theoretical and experimental understanding of lasers and optics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative lasers.
- Document and present designs, processes, and results for internal design reviews and external program reviews.
- Perform hands-on optical alignment of high power lasers.
- Test and characterization of high power lasers.
Requirements:
- 2+ year experience in high tech industry doing R&D.
- Bachelor's degree in physics, optics, chemistry, engineering or other physical sciences.
- Hands on experience with semiconductor lasers and fiber lasers.
- Strong knowledge of optical properties of III-V semiconductors and laser diodes.
- Experience with laser diode testing.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including problem identification, data analysis, action planning, and execution.
- Working theoretical and experimental understanding of lasers and optics.
- Good mechanical skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to summarize and present results and conclusions clearly and effectively.
