Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Supervisor to join our team at the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). As a Clinical Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality mental health services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and coordination of long-term case management mental health services.
  • Support and train case management staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent care.
  • Coordinate with other DESC programs to ensure seamless transitions of care for our clients.
  • Participate in psychiatric consultations, clinical supervisions, program meetings, and in-service training to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Coordinate schedules and ensure coverage for all aspects of long-term mental health services.
  • Conduct quarterly quality assurance reviews of client charts to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee compliance with documentation requirements and ensure adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide individual supervision and consultation to team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and maintain confidential files.
  • Participate in committees to ensure efficient and accurate work.
  • Track matters through chart review and database reports to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Maintain familiarity with agency and mental health system policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with human service organizations and other agencies.
  • Provide clinical case management services for a small caseload and support team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with non-mental health DESC staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Teach and promote outreach services and active integration of recovery-based services.
Requirements
  • Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or equivalent to act as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or other relevant behavioral science or Bachelor of Nursing degree with specialty in mental health.
  • One or more years' experience in community-based behavioral health services.
  • Experience working with adults experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders.
  • Possess the skills and attitude to provide sound clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behavior.
  • Subscribe to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in State of Washington or actively pursuing one of these credentials.
  • Qualified to provide Department of Health Approved Supervision to LICSW, LASW, LMFT, and/or LMHC candidates.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English.
