Position Summary:
The Director of Application Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the management and enhancement of the organization's application ecosystem. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of both internal and external technology systems that drive business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Formulate and articulate a comprehensive strategy for the organization’s information systems, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
  • Application Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the full spectrum of the application lifecycle, from inception through to decommissioning, prioritizing projects based on organizational needs.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Guide a team of application managers, developers, and analysts, fostering a collaborative environment across various departments.
  • Vendor Relations: Assess and oversee partnerships with third-party software providers, including contract negotiations and service agreements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that applications fulfill user requirements and comply with established quality standards, while continuously monitoring performance and security.
  • Systems Integration: Facilitate the integration of diverse systems to enhance operational efficiency and optimize performance.
  • Risk and Compliance Management: Identify potential risks associated with application services and ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with executive leadership regarding IT initiatives, challenges, and progress.
  • Change Management: Lead initiatives related to application upgrades and process enhancements, providing necessary training and support to users.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, seeking opportunities for digital transformation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT leadership, particularly in application development and management.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and team leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and languages.
  • Experience with systems integration and database management.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
