About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Code services performed and submit billing work sheets daily, as well as notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognize equipment malfunctions, and take corrective action.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and archives/records scans.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, and act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner.
  • Recognize ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to pregnant women, infants, and children, and comply with safety and security training and OSHA standards/regulations.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities, and maintain professional affiliations.
Qualifications
  • Possess a current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound and satisfactory completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.
  • Be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.

The expected pay for this position ranges from $68.27 per hour, with actual pay computed based on years of relevant experience.
