About the Role

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Explain procedures to patients, providing education and support to ensure optimal test results.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to strict confidentiality protocols and guidelines.
  • Code services performed, submitting completed billing worksheets daily to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Notify Patient Service Associates of additional services performed, requiring authorization and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action to ensure optimal performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
  • Maintain archives/records scans, adhering to strict data management protocols and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
  • Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing individual religious, ethical, and moral opinions/beliefs.
  • Recognize and address ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in providing care to patients, adhering to strict standards and guidelines.
  • Comply with safety and security training, OSHA standards, and regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Complete all required Compliance Training, staying up-to-date with the latest regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities, promoting ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Participate in professional development activities and meetings, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain professional affiliations, adhering to strict membership and certification protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
  • Satisfactory completion of an Allied Health Educational Program and one year of on-the-job training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.
  • Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, adhering to strict certification protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements, staying current with industry trends and best practices.

The expected pay for this position ranges from $68.27 per hour, with actual pay computed based on years of relevant experience.
