Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing and/or assisting with ultrasound procedures, managing electronic data, and reviewing exams for proper positioning and technique.

Responsibilities
  • Manage electronic data, process information, and review exams for proper positioning and technique.
  • Transfer images to PACS and verify the action.
  • Review patient medical history, protocol, and prior images, using clinical judgment to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Instruct radiology students and/or new staff according to clinical and department requirements.
  • Perform visual maintenance and quality control checks, record and report results to appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies, linens, and accessories.
  • Coordinate and schedule examinations.
Qualifications
  • Degree or program that provides eligibility to attain certification or licensure.
  • Certified in abdominal, neuro, and/or OB/GYN ultrasonography by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT) (S).
  • Eligible and will obtain one of the two certifications noted above within 12 months of employment.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course).
  • Two years ultrasound experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in email and word processing systems.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • ARDMS - DVT certification.
  • Three or more years ultrasound experience preferred.
