Grants Management Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing grants and contracts, including private donor and government-funded grants, to ensure the integrity of our financial data and provide exceptional support to our faculty and laboratory administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Primary Post-Award Finance Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact for 15 Rockefeller University Research Laboratories, providing expert financial guidance and support.
- Award Administration: Establish and close out award accounts in Oracle Grants Accounting, adhering to sponsoring agency policies and regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports and invoices to awarding agencies, ensuring timely and accurate data submission.
- Grant Management: Monitor accounts receivable and laboratory grant activity daily, identifying and addressing any irregularities or discrepancies.
- Communication: Provide exceptional written and verbal communication support to Principal Investigators and administrators, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange.
- Training and Development: Conduct post-award grants management training for new lab administrators, promoting best practices and ensuring seamless transitions.
- Financial Analysis: Investigate and verify Faculty Transactions upon request from the Payroll Department, ensuring accurate and compliant financial data.
- Grant Expenditure Forecasting: Provide grant expenditure forecasting to PIs or Lab Administrators upon request, ensuring informed decision-making and effective resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: 4 years prior Sponsored Projects/Post-Award Accounting experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Grants Accounting, Payment Management System, and preparation of Federal Financial Reports to sponsors.
- Knowledge: Accounting for Federal grants and contracts, computer proficiency (Excel and Outlook), and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Benefits: Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
