Position Overview

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering healthcare services through advanced computed tomography (CT) imaging techniques. This position is responsible for performing CT examinations, processing images, and assisting in the diagnostic or therapeutic procedures as requested by licensed healthcare professionals. The specialist ensures optimal patient care and recognizes essential patient conditions to facilitate successful imaging outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and confirm patients' medical histories, ensuring all necessary information is accessible to the healthcare provider.
  • Conduct thorough patient identification and order verification. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by providing clear instructions to alleviate anxiety and enhance cooperation.
  • Select appropriate technical parameters and operate imaging equipment effectively. Position patients and machinery to accurately capture the anatomical area of interest while prioritizing patient comfort.
  • Administer contrast media and medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assess images for technical quality, adjust display settings, and ensure images are uploaded to the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) for permanent records, confirming proper patient identification.
  • Coordinate scheduling for patient procedures.
  • Perform routine assignments while adhering to established protocols, seeking guidance as necessary, and resolving standard operational challenges.
  • Maintain a tidy work environment and report any equipment issues to the relevant personnel.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in Nuclear Medicine or CT is required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of employment.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, with evening shifts scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and every fourth weekend.
