Key Responsibilities:
Job Performance:
- Exhibit proficiency in preparing patients for procedures.
- Efficiently perform all designated Mammography procedures.
- Work independently and assess examinations critically.
- Gather and communicate comprehensive patient histories to radiologists.
- Utilize sound judgment for effective planning and problem-solving.
- Maintain awareness of radiation safety for yourself and others.
- Demonstrate competence in the management of exam storage and transfer.
- Participate in community breast health initiatives as required.
Patient Care:
- Provide education to patients regarding breast health and ensure proper consent forms are completed for invasive procedures.
- Deliver age-appropriate care competently.
- Accurately obtain and document patient histories and interpret physician orders.
- Timely order, track, and charge for examinations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program for Radiologic Technology with requisite training and experience as mandated by licensing authorities.
- Additional Mammography education as required by licensing bodies.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiology and Mammography.
- If transitioning from Radiography to Mammography, successful completion of the Mammography Registry is required within 12 months of training.
- Current license or conditional license from the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency and/or the Iowa Department of Public Health.
- Current CPR certification.
