Under general supervision, this role involves performing professional duties in the provision of Breast Imaging services. The specialist will demonstrate expertise in executing all Breast Imaging related examinations and additional patient care responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Job Performance:
- Exhibit proficiency in preparing patients for imaging procedures.
- Accurately conduct all designated Breast Imaging procedures efficiently.
- Work independently and assess imaging exams critically.
- Gather and provide comprehensive patient history when liaising with radiologists.
- Utilize sound judgment for effective planning and problem-solving.
- Maintain awareness of radiation safety for oneself and others.
- Demonstrate skill in the storage and transfer of imaging exams.
- Engage in community breast health initiatives as required.
Patient Care:
- Deliver patient education regarding breast health and ensure proper consent forms are completed for invasive procedures.
- Exhibit competence in administering age-appropriate care.
- Accurately obtain and document patient history while interpreting physician orders correctly.
- Timely order, track, and charge for imaging exams.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate from a JRCERT accredited program for Radiologic Technology with necessary training and experience as mandated by licensing authorities. Additional education in Mammography as required by licensing standards.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in both Radiology and Mammography. If transitioning from Radiography to Mammography, must pass the Mammography Registry within 12 months of completing training.
- Possess a current or conditional license from the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency and/or the Iowa Department of Public Health.
- Current CPR certification.
