Job Overview

Position Summary

The Engineering Specialist will possess a deep understanding of diverse engineering practices and project management methodologies. This role encompasses various responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle, including design evaluation, project supervision, and support in manufacturing processes. The specialist will collaborate closely with the Project Management, Engineering, Scheduling, and Fabrication teams to guarantee timely delivery of projects that adhere to specifications.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Engineering Specialist Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine technical drawings to confirm compliance with specifications and ensure they meet the highest industry quality standards.
  • Offer technical guidance for engineering support, project oversight, and fabrication activities.
  • Engage in a variety of tasks to support project delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate within a team of specialists, support personnel, and engineers.
  • Perform various engineering support functions, including printing deliverables and reviewing wiring schematics.
  • Be cross-trained in Quality Control processes.
  • Understand the diverse tasks and requirements of projects and assist in their execution.
  • Maintain and update project schedules and milestones as necessary.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic fabrication issues, escalating to Engineering or Project Management when needed.
  • Develop wiring prototypes, cable schedules, and other essential drawings and deliverables.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and organizational skills, along with effective written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
  • A technical degree is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, grasp items, and perform keyboarding for computer operations.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, or otherwise move about frequently.
  • Occasionally lift, move, or transfer items weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Possible exposure to typical manufacturing production physical hazards.
