Job Overview

As a key member of the Hillsborough County team, the Senior Transportation Engineer will play a critical role in providing technical leadership and expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects. This position will be responsible for managing and overseeing large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including county officials, contractors, and community groups, to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and identify potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including county officials, contractors, and community groups.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the county's transportation infrastructure remains safe, efficient, and effective.
Requirements
  • Registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (active status) in the applicable discipline.
  • At least six years of post-registration experience as a Professional Engineer in the applicable discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
