The Senior Counsel for Strategic Markets at RxBenefits, Inc. plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization’s contracting strategies within the Strategic Markets (SM) sector. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Contracting and Regulatory Compliance, this position is designed for a legal professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at both hands-on legal work and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to create tailored templates and establish effective contracting processes for various SM clients, including third-party administrators, municipalities, labor unions, and healthcare institutions.
  • Oversee all legal operations related to SM client contracting, ensuring thorough drafting and negotiation of contracts.
  • Provide comprehensive legal support for organizational operations and contract discussions, including the research and analysis of relevant federal and state legislation.
  • Mentor and supervise a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Offer legal insights on diverse company projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate, with active membership in good standing of at least one State Bar Association.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, particularly in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Strong skills in legal research and writing, along with excellent organizational, teamwork, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in leading and managing a legal team.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Able to navigate a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in establishing legal support functions in international contexts.
