Job Title: Development Associate

Are you passionate about fundraising and making a difference in the lives of students and faculty at the University of New Hampshire? We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Development Associate to join our team

About the Role:

The Development Associate will play a critical role in supporting the Development Operations team in achieving our fundraising goals. This includes coordinating and driving moves management strategy across assigned gift officer portfolios, facilitating communication between gift officers and stakeholders, and building in-depth familiarity with key donor profiles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively coordinates and drives moves management strategy across assigned gift officer portfolios, including appropriate plans and steps.
  • Facilitates communication between gift officers, Advancement Operations' departments, and other strategic partners and stakeholders.
  • Builds in-depth familiarity with key donor profiles by participating in calls/meetings, communicating with gift officers during regular check-ins, and reviewing records in the Advancement CRM.
  • Develops materials for pipeline review sessions; ensures timely management and accurate recording of all pipeline data into Advancement's CRM; prepares regular metrics and interaction reports to ensure managed constituents are moving through the donor life cycle on pace and in-line with campaign goals.
  • Tracks action items, prepares the team and their collaborators for strategy and donor briefings, and coordinates meetings for the team with internal and external partners.
  • Consults with faculty and staff from the various departments and programs to provide guidance on fundraising efforts they may be conducting to ensure they have a coordinated strategy and follow policies and procedures.
  • Partners with Development senior leadership to manage special projects related to fundraising, business planning, portfolios, and prospects/donors.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree and three years of related experience or high school graduation and five years of related experience or equivalent combination of higher education and experience totaling five years.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in a Development/fundraising office.
  • Orientation as a team player and demonstrated strength at partnering with peers, management, and leadership to move projects forward.
  • A metrics-driven, entrepreneurial mindset that informs strategy and work.
  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; comfortable with managing up and across.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and at events as needed such as reunion, commencement, graduation, awards ceremonies, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with higher ed fundraising campaigns.
  • High level of data literacy.
  • High level of comfortability with technology, ideally fundraising technology platforms such as Blackbaud, EverTrue, GiveCampus, Salesforce, etc.
