About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical imaging department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine exams using radionuclides to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of disease.
  • Administer prescribed pharmaceutical-grade radioactive materials to patients, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
  • Explain procedures to patients prior to exams, providing clear and concise information.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with equipment used for nuclear medicine exams, including spect cameras and PACS.
  • Ensure availability of physicians for procedures requiring medication administration and supervision.
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain required documentation regarding radioactive materials.
  • Adhere to policies related to standard precautions, infection control, and radiation safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved Joint Review Committee on Education Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent.
  • Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (CNMTB) or Certified in nuclear medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N) or Board eligible to take the CNMT or ARRT (N) examinations within 24 months.
