Key ResponsibilitiesThe Nuclear Medicine Technologist will:
- Conduct nuclear medicine examinations following established protocols.
- Administer pharmaceutical-grade radioactive substances to patients in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Implement safety protocols to protect patients and staff during procedures.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating nuclear medicine equipment.
- Coordinate with physicians to ensure proper administration of medications during procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of radioactive materials and patient interactions.
- Conduct regular surveys of work areas to ensure safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control guidelines.
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree with completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
This position plays a critical role in the delivery of high-quality healthcare services, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care through advanced diagnostic techniques.
