Key Responsibilities

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will:

  • Conduct nuclear medicine examinations following established protocols.
  • Administer pharmaceutical-grade radioactive substances to patients in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Implement safety protocols to protect patients and staff during procedures.
  • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Coordinate with physicians to ensure proper administration of medications during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of radioactive materials and patient interactions.
  • Conduct regular surveys of work areas to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control guidelines.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate Degree with completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
