As a Merchandising Operations Supervisor, your responsibilities include:
(1) Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor while collaborating with vendors and team members to fulfill store requirements, (2) Guaranteeing that signage, pricing details, and product displays are precise, facilitating easy merchandise location, and (3) Mentoring team members in crafting visually appealing product arrangements that are safe, tidy, and accessible for customers. The Merchandising Operations Supervisor (MOS) manages the execution of all merchandising services, projects, and maintenance tasks within the store. Successfully completing these responsibilities ensures that merchandise is clean, safe, and accessible, contributing to an overall enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. This role supervises the team responsible for resetting merchandise according to planograms, stocking, and accurately pricing products. Additionally, the MOS collaborates with other store departments to ensure that the Merchandising Service Team effectively supports the store's sales and operational goals. Often, the MOS must interpret and modify the provided planograms and project outlines to better meet the specific needs and layout of individual stores.

Travel Requirements:

While this position does not typically require regular travel, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training sessions, or to assist nearby stores.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

- Organizes the Merchandising Service team’s schedule and allocates resources to enhance project execution in alignment with the overall Merchandising Service strategy.

- Directs Merchandising Service Associates (MSAs) regarding project priorities, scheduling, expectations, and necessary resources (e.g., materials, supplies, time).

- Facilitates onboarding and training, provides on-the-job coaching, and mentors MSAs.

- Evaluates MSAs' performance and offers constructive feedback.

- Develops personalized growth plans for MSAs by assessing metrics and individual strengths, weaknesses, and needs.

- Manages disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR business partners.

- Oversees project and travel expenses as well as weekly payroll.

- Identifies and resolves project and/or store-level challenges using available resources.

- Communicates project updates and feedback on execution with store teams, field leaders, and corporate departments.

- Identifies opportunities for enhancing efficiency, merchandising, and displays to be shared across the district, region, and enterprise as appropriate.

Customer Service

- Delivers exemplary customer service consistently through adherence to Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.

- Proactively engages with customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.

- Responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee inquiries, guiding them through store areas and projects as necessary.

- Shows genuine appreciation to customers.

- Provides customers with information regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, benefits, applications, and warranty details related to Lowe's programs.

- Equips team members who directly assist customers with the necessary tools and resources.

Merchandising Standards

- Ensures that merchandise is stocked, organized, and fully displayed in assigned areas according to planograms.

- Verifies that all signage, reorder stickers, pricing, and product information are accurate.

- Confirms that all product displays, resets, and bay integrity efforts are executed according to Lowe's specifications, planograms, and merchandising and safety standards.

- Collaborates with receiving departments to establish or revise the staging process for reset products and related materials.

- Leads efforts for buyback items, ensuring they are prepared and ready for shipping.

- Oversees the proper handling of damaged products.

- Works with the Merchandising Service Supervisor to ensure all supporting materials are available and logistics are organized for project completion.

Store Safety and Cleanliness

- Identifies common signs of theft and other security risks, promptly reporting them to management and/or Asset Protection.

- Ensures compliance with cleanliness standards and programs to maintain an organized store environment.

- Maintains a safe and secure workplace, which may involve conducting daily safety assessments, identifying hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing entry points.

- Adheres to all safety protocols relevant to job duties, including equipment safety measures.

- Operates store equipment as required based on specific roles and departments.

- Maintains point-of-sale signage and ensures all pricing labels are accurate and updated.

- Leads teams in merchandising live goods in garden centers and oversees daily pricing functions for the stores.

- Communicates and coordinates with night teams regarding project execution.

- Manages display and fixture expense lines to stay within budget.

- Ensures teams are staffed to the authorized headcount and oversees large third-party labor projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of customer service or retail experience in a fast-paced environment (or 1 year of experience at Lowe's).
- Less than 1 year of experience in a team lead or informal leadership role.

Preferred:
- 1 year of supervisory experience, including coaching and evaluating direct reports.
- 6 months of merchandising experience, including reading planograms and setting up displays.
- 3 months of experience operating power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
- Availability to work overnight and weekends as required.
- Familiarity with basic tools needed for the job (e.g., hand tools, drills, saws).

Compensation:
$34.50 per hour. Starting pay may vary based on factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience.
