Seattle, Washington, United States Lowe's Full time
Your Impact

At Lowe's, every associate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service while ensuring a store environment that is clean, secure, and well-stocked with essential products.

As a Merchandising Operations Supervisor, your responsibilities include:
(1) Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor while collaborating with vendors and team members to fulfill store requirements, (2) Verifying that signage, pricing details, and product displays are accurate to facilitate easy merchandise location, and (3) Mentoring team members in crafting visually appealing product presentations that are safe, organized, and accessible for customers. The Merchandising Operations Supervisor (MOS) is responsible for overseeing the execution of all merchandising services, projects, and maintenance tasks within the store. Successful completion of these responsibilities leads to a clean, safe, and accessible shopping environment for our customers. This role supervises the team responsible for resetting (according to planograms), stocking, and accurately pricing merchandise. In addition to managing their own team, the MOS collaborates with other store departments to ensure the Merchandising Service Team effectively supports the store's sales and operational goals. Often, the MOS must interpret and adjust the provided planograms and project plans to better align with the specific needs and layout of individual stores.

  • Guide Merchandising Service Associates (MSAs) regarding project priorities, scheduling, expectations, and resource needs (e.g., materials, supplies, time).
  • Facilitate onboarding and training, provide on-the-job coaching, and mentor MSAs.
  • Evaluate MSAs' performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop personalized growth plans for MSAs by assessing metrics and individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • Address disciplinary matters in collaboration with HR business partners.
  • Manage project and travel expenses, as well as weekly payroll.
  • Identify and resolve project or store-level challenges using available resources.
  • Communicate project updates and feedback to the store team, field leaders, and corporate teams.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, merchandising, and displays to share across the district, region, and enterprise as appropriate.

Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies and procedures.
  • Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and assist them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
  • Respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee inquiries by guiding them through the store and assisting with projects when necessary.
  • Express genuine appreciation to customers.
  • Provide customers with information regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, benefits, applications, and warranty details related to Lowe's programs.
  • Support team members who directly assist customers by equipping them with necessary tools and resources.

In-stock Management
  • Ensure merchandise is stocked, organized, and fully displayed in assigned areas according to planograms.
  • Verify that all signage, reorder stickers, pricing, and product information are accurate.
  • Confirm that all product displays, resets, and bay integrity efforts comply with Lowe's specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with receiving departments to establish or modify the staging process for reset products and support materials.
  • Lead efforts to manage buyback items, ensuring they are prepared for shipping.
  • Oversee the processing of damaged products.
  • Coordinate with the Merchandising Service Supervisor to ensure all supporting materials are available and logistics are in place for project completion.

Store Cleanliness and Safety
  • Identify common signs of theft and security risks, promptly reporting them to management and/or Asset Protection.
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain cleanliness and organization in the store and work areas.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, identifying hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols relevant to job duties.
  • Operate store equipment as required based on specific roles and departments.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Lead teams in merchandising live goods in garden centers.
  • Oversee daily pricing functions within the stores.

Required Qualifications:

  • Less than 1 year of experience as a team lead or in an informal leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of supervisory experience, including coaching, training, and evaluating direct reports.
  • 6 months of merchandising experience, including reading planograms and setting up displays.
  • 3 months of experience operating power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
