Job Title: Director of Planned Giving

NYU Langone Health is a world-renowned academic medical center, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medical research, and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Planned Giving to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive planned giving program that attracts new donors and stewards existing supporters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement a strategic planned giving plan that aligns with the institution's goals and objectives.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects for bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and other planned giving vehicles.
  • Work closely with financial advisors, attorneys, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of planned gifts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key donors, alumni, and other stakeholders to promote planned giving and ensure a strong pipeline of prospects.
  • Manage and analyze data to track progress, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the development team to develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to promote planned giving.
  • Supervise and mentor staff members to ensure effective execution of planned giving activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctorate a plus.
  • Minimum 9-10+ years of professional experience in planned giving or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and other complex assets.
  • Experience working effectively with financial advisors, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on results-oriented performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of management experience, including demonstrated experience successfully managing a team and creating a positive environment.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
