Job Title: Employee Engagement Specialist

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employee Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our People Resources department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing employee engagement strategies that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute employee engagement programs and events that promote a sense of community and belonging among employees.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create and distribute a monthly employee newsletter and other communication channels.
  • Design and implement an annual calendar of employee engagement events that align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor and assess employee engagement through surveys and informal feedback.
  • Plan and coordinate team-building activities and outings to foster camaraderie and collaboration.
  • Organize recognition programs to celebrate employee achievements and milestones.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, human resources, event management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing employee engagement strategies, with a focus on internal communications.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, and strong computer skills.
  • Comfort with technology and ability to quickly learn new platforms.
  • Digital media experience, particularly on platforms like Indeed, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Experience with creative platforms such as Canva for designing communication materials.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate successful employee-focused events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver engaging content.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Formal presentation skills, with the ability to present content to diverse audiences.
Work Environment:

This role will be based in a combination of a warehouse and retail store environment, with occasional travel within Goodwill of the Finger Lakes territory and other states or Goodwill territories as needed.
