Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with autism and other special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with autism and other special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including the classroom and community-based programs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student learning.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Massachusetts Teacher of Moderate Disability (PK-8) licensure.
  • Experience working with students with autism and other special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
