Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Event Support & Environmental Services Technician to join our team at the Seattle Art Museum. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our museum spaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily janitorial duties, including cleaning, dusting, and polishing of surfaces, as well as restocking supplies and maintaining equipment.
  • Assist with event setup and teardown, including furniture arrangement, trash removal, and cleaning of event spaces.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the facilities team to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and customer service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in janitorial or environmental services a plus.
  • Minimum one year of experience in janitorial or environmental services, preferably in a commercial or institutional setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
