About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (CLS II) to join our team at St. John's Hospital. As a CLS II, you will play a critical role in the diagnostic process, contributing significantly to patient care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions.
  • Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care.
  • Monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems.
  • Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Occasionally interact with patients, especially when collecting specimens, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.

Requirements:

  • ASCP certification or equivalent, or specialized military training in laboratory science required.
  • Two years of hospital laboratory work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR).
  • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
