Work Schedule: Full Time Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Compensation: $33.98-$52/hr based on experience, including shift differential and a comprehensive benefits package.
The Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist plays a crucial role in conducting complex tests on blood and bodily fluids, providing vital information for disease diagnosis and management, consistent with the standards of a level 1 trauma center.
This position requires the ability to work independently with moderate oversight from a Medical Laboratory Scientist Supervisor or the Director of Laboratory Operations. Responsibilities also include mentoring and guiding fellow Registered Medical Laboratory Scientists, and potential assignments in specialized laboratory sections.
Qualifications:
- ASCP certification or eligibility for certification is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field such as chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology is preferred.
Candidates who have completed an AMA-approved laboratory training program or a government-approved training program and are eligible for ASCP certification will also be considered.
- Must demonstrate and maintain full competencies in two or more laboratory operational areas, such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, blood bank, or sub-specialties. At least one competency must be achieved within 90 days of starting the role.
All scientists must comply with CLIA '88 requirements for complex testing.
