We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at the Cancer Center of Kansas. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests, maintaining quality control procedures, and ensuring the accuracy of patient results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory tests, including specimen analysis and instrument maintenance.
- Initiate and follow quality assurance and safety policies and procedures.
- Collect and process specimens, including phlebotomy and special procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
- Participate in proficiency testing and quality control activities.
- Prepare and analyze blood smears and urinary sediment.
- Record and report results, including file maintenance and processing of send-out testing.
- Adhere to laboratory policies and procedures, including documentation and corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or laboratory science.
- Current state license, if required.
- AMT, ASCP, or equivalent certification preferred.
The work environment is fast-paced and requires strong communication and teamwork skills. The laboratory team is committed to providing high-quality patient care and adhering to regulatory standards.
