Job Summary

As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for administering insurance plans, ensuring compliance with carrier policies, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and Section 125 Cafeteria benefits regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer insurance plans, including dental, vision, life, and voluntary supplemental retirement plans
  • Calculate premium adjustments and complete weekly payroll uploads to platform for insurance payroll deductions, changes, and discrepancies
  • Serve as employee resource for troubleshooting deduction/reconciliation inquiries
  • Administer local and state supplemental retirement plan options (i.e., 403B, 457, 401k)
  • Maintain up-to-date flex benefits material in and on multiple platforms for employees
  • Maintain a variety of insurance records, including carrier contracts, and employee records for reference and audits
  • Prepare/create various reports using carrier software, spreadsheets, as needed/required
  • Collaborate and resolve insurance benefit concerns along with reporting and reconciliation problems
  • Assist beneficiaries with death claims; complete necessary forms and monitor status
  • Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate Degree or minimum of three (3) years' experience in related job required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a moderately noisy location, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, with the right to require work at other places as needed.
