Position Overview

Responsible for selling insurance products to both new and existing clients through the following key functions.

Key Responsibilities

Client/Policy Services (40%)

Responsibilities include:

• Developing a comprehensive understanding of the client's business and unique concerns.

• Assessing the client's insurance and risk requirements by making observations, identifying goals, and formulating strategies.

• Leading the sales process in securing coverage, including negotiating terms and premiums with underwriters.

• Assisting policyholders in navigating insurance claims following a loss.

• Anticipating future needs and proactively reaching out to established clients for account renewals and upgrades.

• Cultivating long-term relationships with clients and underwriters.

Prospecting & Achieving Annual Targets (40%)

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting prospecting activities to meet new business objectives set by the Sales Vice President.

• Identifying strategies to achieve sales targets (which may include cold calling, leveraging referrals, and engaging in industry associations).

• Ensuring timely collection of premiums.

• Taking ownership of client accounts.

Work Ethic (20%)

Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills to maintain efficiency. Supports the organization's mission and values. Enhances the organization through networking efforts outside of work. Commits to extended hours when necessary to achieve goals. Shows dedication and initiative to fulfill department and agency educational objectives as outlined in the organization's educational framework.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversees the work of 1-7 Account Manager Assistants and Account Managers.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; or three to five years of experience in insurance and/or business sales; or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, such as insurance policies. Capable of responding effectively to inquiries or service issues from company personnel and/or clients. Proficient in presenting information and addressing questions from groups of department personnel and clients.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be knowledgeable in Internet software, word processing software, and contact management systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess applicable state insurance license or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Must hold a valid Driver's License. Must be able to achieve insurance designations as outlined in the organization's educational plan.
