Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Producer to join our team at RSS Insurance. As an Insurance Producer, you will be responsible for selling new business to ensure continued profitable growth according to specific goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell New Business: Prospect for new clients, sell additional coverages to existing clients, and retain existing accounts.
  • Meet Performance Standards: Meet specific objectives for production of new business. Work with Account Managers as appropriate to retain current clients.
  • Develop Sales Business Plan: Develop and implement an approved sales business plan, based on global agency sales goals. Meet annual sales goals.
  • Cross Sell and Refer: Actively cross sell and refer prospects to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain Prospect List: Maintain prospect list of clients for agency's targeted business in agency prospect system.
  • Complete Applications: Complete applications, quotations, and proposals in appropriate carrier proprietary system or agency management system.
  • Arrange Payment Terms: Arrange payment terms for all accounts in accordance with agency credit and collections policy.
  • Cooperate in Gathering Information: Cooperate in gathering information on renewals as needed.
  • Balance Production: Balance production to achieve desired mix of business.
  • Handoff New Accounts: Arrange for smooth handoff of new accounts to Personal Lines Account.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of trends and techniques, and use agency selling aids to maintain a competitive status for the agency within the industry.
  • Attend Sales Seminars: Attend sales seminars, company sales meetings, or educational activities needed to improve sales techniques and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the marketplace.
  • Participate in Special Projects: Participate in/direct any special projects at management's request.
Requirements
  • Product Knowledge: Product knowledge, college degree preferred.
  • Prior Sales/Production Experience: Prior sales/production and marketing/underwriting experience.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills essential.
  • License Required: License required. API, AAI, ARM, or CPCU completion preferred.
