ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overview:

The Sales Account Executive is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive sales initiatives within their designated area to optimize revenue and profitability. This role requires regular in-person and/or telephonic interactions utilizing a consultative sales methodology to ensure customer satisfaction. The executive will pinpoint sales opportunities and proactively pursue those that promise the highest potential and profit margins, both with current clients through cross-selling and upselling, as well as with new prospects. Upholding Brenntag's core values and prioritizing customer excellence is essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Development (70%)

Achieve sales targets while focusing on customer retention and enhancing overall satisfaction (including through digital platforms). Identify potential customer opportunities for cross-selling and engage relevant stakeholders. Develop strategies and objectives for customer growth in the assigned area; collaborate with the Sales Manager. Conduct regular customer visits and prepare for meetings using all available resources, coordinate, negotiate, and finalize proposals. Manage urgent business requests and seek assistance from the Commercial Assistant when needed. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to deliver optimal solutions for customers and maximize value. Serve as the primary contact for customers in the assigned area regarding all commercial matters. Conduct market research to identify potential new product opportunities by engaging customers to assess interest and market demand. Utilize Brenntag Connect to drive and enhance sales.

New Client Acquisition (10%)

Identify opportunities for launching sales initiatives in collaboration with other departments. Prioritize and engage prospective clients. Initiate contact with prospects and involve relevant stakeholders to nurture leads. Collaborate with Brenntag Specialties sales staff on clients with new business opportunities.

Sales Administration (15%)

Establish and optimize pricing strategies based on value and customer segmentation within guidelines from Product Management. Ensure accurate data management and documentation of all business cases in the local CRM system. Maintain and update customer opportunity pipelines in the CRM system. Complete sales and revenue reporting, driving commercial excellence based on input from the Commercial Excellence Function. Provide regular forecasts of customer product demand to Product Management to optimize demand projections.

Knowledge Management (5% to-be)

Maintain current product knowledge through ongoing training. Stay informed about changes in the product portfolio and market trends. Keep abreast of feedstock and upstream developments affecting product pricing.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience:

Ideally, a Post-Secondary Education in Business, Science, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a sales role within the chemical distribution industry.
