Role Overview:
We are in search of a skilled entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering team. This team is dedicated to providing ongoing engineering support for products currently in production and facilitating the transition for new product development. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and will be hands-on, comfortable with the assembly and disassembly of intricate electromechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and implement design enhancement projects for existing products and field retrofits.
2. Maintain 3D CAD models and documentation for operational changes requested, including supplier modifications, manufacturing enhancements, and end-of-life strategies.
3. Lead initiatives aimed at cost reduction for established products.
4. Conduct failure analyses and mitigation strategies, applying industry best practices such as Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and CAPA.
5. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess manufacturing, field, and customer data to pinpoint issues needing engineering intervention.
6. Review design documentation from New Product Development to assess production readiness.
7. Employ a robust analytical approach to the design process, focusing on mechanics, thermal dynamics, and tolerance analyses.
8. Oversee all phases of the product lifecycle from initial concept through to production deployment and eventual obsolescence.
9. Maintain effective communication with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications:
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to thorough project completion.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills to address complex challenges efficiently.
- Capability to integrate customer and company perspectives into technical decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering; recent graduates with a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
- Experience in creating detailed designs and drawings for fabrication, as well as developing test documents and leading validation testing.

Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DFM and DTC.
- Familiarity with fluid, pressure, vacuum, electrical, and thermal systems.
- Understanding of GD&T and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with PDM and PLM systems.
- Hands-on experience with machine assembly and operation.
