Position Overview:

IPS is seeking a committed Mechanical Engineer II to enhance our dynamic MEP team. This role is pivotal in addressing intricate challenges within the life sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts design calculations and prepares quantity estimates for smaller, less intricate projects.
  • Utilizes engineering design software to create detailed engineering documents.
  • Modifies specifications, plans, and schedules to align with project requirements.
  • Performs calculations for design aspects such as heating and cooling loads, lighting, and equipment sizing.
  • Generates specialized drawings, including plumbing isometrics and electrical diagrams.
  • Selects appropriate equipment based on the guidance of the Project Designer/Engineer.
  • Produces drawings for personal designs and collaborates with drafters for sketch integration.
  • Investigates design alternatives and compiles findings for the Project Designer/Engineer.
  • Maintains communication with the Project Manager regarding workload and project scope changes.
  • Provides essential information for specification development.
  • Researches code compliance and engages with code officials as necessary.
  • Organizes and oversees project documentation.
  • Ensures all designs adhere to company standards and production guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional engineering registration is required.
  • Proficient in engineering design software and computer-aided drafting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of system design and relevant codes in Mechanical, Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, or Process disciplines.

Additional Information:
This role involves travel based on project requirements and is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring fieldwork at various client sites.
