LOCATION: Burlingame, CA – (SFO) San Francisco International Airport
SUMMARY:
Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC) is seeking to employ Five (5) A&P Licensed Mechanics (or those nearing licensure) specializing in Avionics/Aviation Mechanics to enhance our expert team. This role involves working on, replacing, and optimizing the performance of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems on aircraft for leading airlines worldwide. Competitive hourly compensation ranges from $ to $ based on experience. (These figures include geographical differentials for the specified location and are contingent upon relevant licenses and experience.) Starting salaries increase with additional years of expertise.
This is a full-time, direct hire position that provides comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance benefits. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Maintenance Services Representative at Panasonic Avionics Corporation, you will utilize your A&P license and acquired skills to conduct line maintenance for various airlines, both inside and outside the cabin. Your responsibilities will encompass the maintenance of Airframe, Powerplant, and In-Flight Entertainment/Connectivity systems as directed by local management.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Executing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and modifications on Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC) In-Flight Entertainment Systems in compliance with FAA/CAA/EASA/CASA regulations.
- Conducting built-in tests (BIT) and manual tests of Panasonic Avionics Corporation IFE systems.
- Diagnosing issues with electronic units, cabling, or seat consoles, tracing failures to line replaceable modules using electronic theory knowledge.
- Identifying necessary repairs to restore operational acceptance, which may involve the removal and replacement of defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling.
- Performing maintenance inspections on customer aircraft for various airlines.
- Operating a vehicle on airport premises and around aircraft.
- Utilizing airline communication equipment.
- Engaging and interfacing with customers.
- Documenting testing and repairs using computer and barcoding technology.
- Assisting in managing spare inventory.
- Performing other related tasks as assigned by immediate supervisors or upper management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Airframe & Powerplant License or an equivalent certification is essential.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening (including marijuana).
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be flexible with shift schedules, including night and graveyard shifts, as airport operations run 24/7.
- 0–1 year of experience in a mechanical or electrical technician role through work or educational background is preferred but not mandatory.
- General knowledge of fundamental electrical mechanics or related experience gained through commercial aviation, military service, or technical school education is highly desirable but not required.
- 1+ years of IFE or avionics experience is strongly preferred but not required.
- Must be capable of climbing and working from ladders or platforms and endure prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, or twisting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended durations.
- Proficient in reading, comprehending, and following instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and verbal instructions in English.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
