Position Summary:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division, focusing on the advancement of our large-scale energy storage solutions. This role is crucial for the design, development, and optimization of our battery energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will utilize their systems engineering expertise and knowledge of battery technologies to spearhead the conceptualization, execution, and validation of cutting-edge energy storage solutions tailored to the needs of our clients and the evolving energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the comprehensive development of battery energy storage systems, encompassing requirements definition, system architecture design, integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, thermal, structural, mechanical, embedded, software, systems modeling, and controls engineers, to establish system requirements and design specifications.
  • Perform system-level analysis, modeling, and simulation to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of energy storage systems across various operating conditions.
  • Devise and implement innovative strategies to enhance system performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Lead system integration initiatives, including hardware and software integration, interface definition, and validation testing, to guarantee the seamless functionality of energy storage systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to elevate the capabilities, scalability, and reliability of battery energy storage systems, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and engage with external partners and stakeholders to foster innovation and expedite project delivery.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in battery energy storage systems, incorporating relevant insights into project planning and execution.
  • Exhibit a strong team spirit and a proactive attitude, demonstrating that no task is too large or too small.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering, ideally within the renewable energy or energy storage sector, focusing on battery energy storage systems.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of battery technologies, energy storage systems, and power electronics, with a solid grasp of system-level design principles.
  • Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD) and familiarity with industry standards for energy storage system design and integration.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a talent for prioritizing tasks and managing project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle processes, including requirements management and design verification, is highly advantageous.
